Mary the Mother of God

We will learn:

  • That God called Mary to be the Mother of Jesus.
  • How Mary responded to God's call.
  • The 'Hail Mary' and begin to understand what the words mean. 
  • That Advent is a time to prepare for the coming of Jesus and understand that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus.

Science

Animals including humans

We are learning about:

  • How light is reflected from surfaces.
  • How shadows are formed and how to change the size of them.

History

The Stone Age


We are learning about:

  • The names and location of the continents.
  • The countries, capital cities and landmarks.

We are learning about:

  • Primary and Secondary colours.
  • Who Vincent Van Gogh is and some of his famous paintings.
  • How to use acrylic paint effectively.

Spellings go home on a Monday and are tested on a Friday.

Homework

Homework is handed out every Friday and must be returned the following Wednesday.

Spellings

Spellings are given out on a Monday and we have a spelling test every Friday.

Reading

If your child reads another book apart from their reading book , please make a note of this in their reading record book with any comments.

Please ensure reading books are returned everyday.

PE

Please ensure PE kits are in school for Wednesday. Kits will be kept in school and returned each half term holiday for washing.
