First Sacraments

If you cannot make the sessions at our school for your child's preparation please let us know which other school you will be attending so we can ensure they have resources for you. Please scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the Deanery Overview for dates and times. Thank you!

Our Staff Sacraments Catechist Team will be leading the sessions, supported by you, to help your child prepare for the Sacrament they will be receiving.

Reconciliation 2024

Staff Catechists: Miss Baldwyn and Mrs Hodges

Reconciliation for our Year 3 children took place on

Wednesday 20th March 2024

during the day in school.

The children shared a lovely liturgy with Father Michael in the Headspace room where they shared prayers and reflected during an examination of conscience before receiving the Sacrament.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

was received by our children, along with others in the Deanery, on

Saturday 25th March 2023

at 2pm

at St Bernard's Church, Halifax

Congratulations to all our children who made us very proud!

First Holy Communion 2024

Staff Catechist: Mrs Slack

First Holy Communion for our Year 4 children will take place on

Saturday 18th May 2024

and will be at our own church

St. Joseph's Church, Brighouse

at 11am.

The preparation meetings for the children and a parent/carer at our school are all on Tuesdays:

Saturday 13th May 2023

at 11am

in our parish church of

St Joseph's Brighouse

We are very proud of them all!

Confirmation 2024

Staff Catechist: Mrs Bonner

Confirmation for our Year 6 children was on

Thursday 7th March 2024

and was celebrated by Bishop Marcus at

St Mary's Church, Halifax.

It was a wonderful Mass and we were very proud of all our children!

The candidates received their certificates, a Youcat and a gift from school at St Joseph's parish Mass on Saturday 16th March 2024.

We are so very proud of our Year 6 Confirmation group who received the Sacrament from Bishop Marcus at a very special liturgy.
