School Meals

Our school meals are cooked on site by our own Kitchen Team.

Meals are free to parents/carers of reception and Key Stage 1 children.

Once your child moves into Key Stage 2 the meals are £2 per day.

The children pre-order their meals which means they get what they like from the menu and the kitchen doesn't run out! Well fed children = happy children!

Our children have the chance to help design our menu while we ensure that the meals contribute to a healthy and balanced diet.

We also have a well stocked salad bar for the children to choose from.

All our meals are checked for allergens and the information is available from school or on the menus lists via this link. Click here to see our menus.

If you think you may be entitled to free School Meals then please contact Mrs Sutcliffe in the office who will talk you through the form you need to fill in.

Natasha's Law

The Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs announced Natasha's Law in 2019.

Natasha's Law will require all food businesses in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland to include labels featuring a full list of ingredients on all pre-packaged food. This law means that from 1st October 2021 we are required, under food safety legislation, to provide the same allergen information as we do for the school meals, for any food that is provided by the school to be eaten off the premises, such as packed lunches.

If the packed lunches are pre-ordered for individual children then we do not have to label every packed lunch with the allergens, but we will have to publish the allergens as we do the school meals. The best and easiest way to do this is on the school website. We must include everything you may find in our school packed lunch. However, if the packed lunch is not pre-packed for individual children and is given on a day to day basis, then each individual item has to have a label on it identifying whether it contains any of the allergens.

As this is a new requirement under food safety legislation, the Environmental Health Officers will be checking this on their site visits.
