St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

Love, learn and live in Christ!

Dear Parents/Carers. Thank you for your fantastic support over the last week! It is so appreciated. If you are able to keep your children at home - even if you are a key worker - then you must. We are operating with a skeleton staff at school and the more children who can stay at home then the fewer staff I need in school enabling staff to distance themselves. Should staffing levels drop then I will have to rethink the current emergency provision. Parents/carers who can keep their children at home, check your child's class webpage EVERY DAY. The teachers are uploading work for them. Stay safe. Mrs Hodges

UNIFORM POLICY

At St. Joseph’s we have a school uniform that all pupils are expected to wear.

We have very high standards in all areas of our school including the dress code.

It is important that all our pupils look smart and wear their uniform with pride.

We ask parents to ensure that their child is correctly dressed each day in line with this policy.

General

  • Only tailored trousers to be worn – not the various fashion types eg: bootleg
  • All items of uniform SHOULD BE MARKED CLEARLY WITH THE CHILD’S NAME
  • Girls skirts/dresses should be an appropriate length ie: just above or on the knee
  • Sensible school shoes - black or grey - NOT trainers
  • a coat - not a hoodie - should be brought to school every day in case of bad weather
  • NO jewellery except small stud earrings and / or a watch
  • NO make-up or nail varnish
  • NO extreme hairstyles eg: shaved shapes in hair, extensions, colours, mohicans …..

The Headteacher or child’s teacher will inform parents if a child’s hair is considered to be inappropriate for school and parents will be expected to take action to remedy it.
