UNIFORM POLICY

At St. Joseph’s we have a school uniform that all pupils are expected to wear. We have very high standards in all areas of our school including the dress code. It is important that all our pupils look smart and wear their uniform with pride. We ask parents to ensure that their child is correctly dressed each day in line with this policy.

General

  • Only tailored trousers to be worn – not the various fashion types eg: bootleg
  • School shoes (black/grey) not trainers to be worn
  • All items of uniform SHOULD BE MARKED CLEARLY WITH THE CHILD’S NAME
  • A coat – not a ‘hoodie’ – should be brought to school every day in case of bad weather
  • Skirts/dresses should be an appropriate length ie: just above or on the knee
  • NO jewellery except small stud earrings and / or a watch
  • NO make-up or nail varnish
  • NO extreme hairstyles eg: shaved shapes in hair, colours, mohicans etc

The Headteacher or child’s teacher will inform parents if a child’s hair is considered to be inappropriate for school and parents will be expected to take action to remedy it

NB:  School may award badges to children with specific roles of responsibility or for achievement but no other must be worn
